Steel-cut oats: These are the second healthiest form. They are also called Irish Oats. Steel-cut oats take longer to digest, helping you to stay full longer and causing less of a rise in blood sugar. It takes 20-30 minutes to cook them.

Rolled Oats: Also known as Traditional or Old-fashioned oats. These are Oat Groats that have been steamed and rolled. It takes 5-10 minutes to cook.

Quick Oats: As the name suggests, their cooking time is faster. They are softer, smoother and less chewy. But their nutrition value is lower. It 1-2 minutes to cook them.

Instant Oats: Not to mention, they are the least healthy one. As they are steamed and flattened, the grains are also pre-cooked. Some instant oats are packaged with added sugar and flavor. No need to cook them.

Disadvantage of eating Oats

Although it has plenty of nutrition value and health benefits, it can cause gas and bloating. We always recommended to start eating gradually and then move to the desired amount as per your diet.
